I unistalled the drivers, deleted all the files that remained after the unistall and I cleaned the registry from all the references to the scanner that I could find (some of Check the scanner driver settings - there may be a setting to correct the moire effect, it may be called "Descreen". All I can suggest is that you try an application called "Vuescan" by Hamrick which replaces the need for a manufacturer's driver by making use of the "WIA" (Windows Image Acquisition) Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver.
